I recently had the opportunity to speak with a representative from a garden center in the Midwest. I asked her what she thought was the most important thing to consider when marketing a garden center. Her answer was that they should be aware of their own brand and their customer’s desires. She then went on to say that they should be aware of what’s going on in their market. She then shared that there are a lot of garden centers that are going through a lot of changes.

Well, this garden center has been one of those during times where there have been massive changes. The market is changing, and this particular market is about to be affected by the end of the year. For many, this is the time of the year where the garden center is in need of an overhaul. This new center, which is located in the suburban Chicago suburb of Woodridge, has been around for over a decade, but the idea behind it seems to be getting older.
