I have yet to find a company that does all this marketing and advertising in one place. Not only does this offer you a great deal of control over the content but it also allows you to create content that is tailored to your target audience. There are also some great link building tools to help you do exactly this.
The biggest problem with most multi-site sites is the fact that they each have their own marketing team to manage them.
